Dr. Bina Agarwal, current member and former president of IAFFE, was awarded the Padma Shri Award by the President of India on January 26, 2008. This award is one of the highest civilian awards given by the Government of India generally to Indian citizens (but not always) to recognize their distinguished contribution in various spheres of activity including the Arts, Education, Industry, Literature, Science, Sports, Social Service and public life.
