IAFFE at the ASSA

Every January, IAFFE meets with the other 50 or so associations that convene as the Allied Social Science Associations (ASSA), formerly known as the annual meeting of the American Economic Association.  This large conference includes over 450 scholarly sessions, and generally is held during the first week of January. IAFFE regularly convenes several panels at the ASSA, often in conjunction with other groups. A Call for Papers for these sessions is posted on our website in January each year with a deadline in mid-April. While IAFFE has only three official session slots, collaboration with colleagues in other member associations usually results in 9-10 sessions in total. For example, in 2007 URPE (Union for Radical Political Economics) generously agreed to co-sponsor three panels with IAFFE.

The IAFFE Board and IAFFE Committees meet prior to and during this conference. A General Membership Meeting for all IAFFE members also is held.
