IAFFE is seeking a new Executive Vice President and Treasurer ("Treasurer" or "EVPT") for a 3-year term startingin January  2020.

IAFFE is an open, diverse community of academics, activists, policy theorists, and practitioners from around the world. Our common cause is to further gender-aware and inclusive economic inquiry and policy analysis with the goal of enhancing the well-being of children, women, and men in local, national, and transnational communities.  By opening new areas of economic inquiry, welcoming diverse voices, and encouraging critical exchanges, IAFFE’s many activities and award-winning journal provide needed space for a variety of theoretical perspectives and advance gender-based research on contemporary economic issues. This is an important leadership position in the organization, which is led by a Board of Directors -- President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, three Board-appointed members (Secretary, Treasurer, and Journal Editor), and nine additional board members elected by the membership

Applicants need not be current members of IAFFE but would need to join the IAFFE prior to assuming office.

IAFFE Executive Vice President and Treasurer (EVPT)

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The EVPT works with the IAFFE Business Manager to coordinate work related to IAFFE finances and budget.  The EVPT provides leadership in this area by chairing the IAFFE Finance Committee and participating in decision-making for IAFFE through membership on the Board of Directors (BOD) and Executive Committee (EC), as well as the Program and Development Committees.

Budgets, Financial Statements, and Reporting: The EVPT works closely with the Business Manager to ensure timely preparation of budgets, financial statements, grant reports, and audits. The EVPT works with the Journal Editor and Business Manager to prepare a draft annual budgets for IAFFE and Feminist Economics. The budgets are approved utilizing the Budget Approval Process and Budget Approval Timeline documents approved by the Finance Committee. The EVPT provides the annual financial statements to the Finance Committee and Board with the support of the Business Manager. The financial statements are published in the IAFFE Annual Report, which is posted on the IAFFE website. The EVPT is ultimately responsible for ensuring that grant reports, taxes, and all financial reporting is undertaken on behalf of IAFFE.

Grants, Contracts, Bank Accounts: As an ongoing officer of IAFFE, the EVPT signs contracts on behalf of IAFFE for grants, personnel, and services such as catering, and is a signatory on bank and other financial accounts for IAFFE. The EVPT works with the Development Committee on the development and submission of grants.

Oversee Office Operations: The EVPT oversees IAFFE Office operations undertaken by the IAFFE Business Manager, including conference coordination, grant administration and reporting, website management, membership management and communication with membership, support for IAFFE Committees, and miscellaneous office activities.
