2023 ASSA Meeting


REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS RALLY

Thursday January  5, 6:30p - 8:00 PM, in front of the Hilton Hotel (the main conference hotel)

  • The goal of of the rally is to engage conference participants registering for the conference in discussions on the need for economists to commit themselves to contribute to the struggle for reproductive rights (see Flyer attached below)
  • You are invited to participate in a rally in support of reproductive rights at the 2023 ASSA Meetings in New Orleans that is sponsored by AFEE (Association for Evolutionary Economics, International Coalition of Political Economists (ICAPE),  IAFFE (International itnal Association for Feminist Economics). and URPE (Union for Radical Political Economics). 
  • Participants in the rally must keep walking in front of the hotel in order to avoid "blocking the sidewalk."
  • Those wishing to draw up their own posters are invited to meet the evening before, Wednesday January 4, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m.,  in the hotel room of Paddy Quick at the J.W. Marriott Hotel where she will be registered as a guest and will provide appropriate supplies.  (Please note that the people in and around New Orleans who are struggling for reproductive rights do not advocate boycotting the state, since this would hurt its residents and workers.)
