Annual Conference

IAFFE's Annual Conference is thoughtfully designed as an inclusive platform where feminist economic research and ideas can be shared, discussed, and heard by the audiences who need them most. It is as valuable for its thought-provoking plenary sessions, academic paper presentations, and workshops as it is for the many opportunities it offers for meeting others working in similar areas, for strategizing, and for socializing together. The next conference will take place July 2 to 4, 2027, in Okayama, Japan, hosted by Okayama University.

In 2026, the conference traveled to Cali, Colombia, under the theme "Feminist Economics and Transformative Change: Ideas, Policies and Movements." It opened with a virtual conference on June 26 and 27, featuring 40 sessions and over 100 presenters, and continued with an in-person conference from July 8 to 11 at Universidad ICESI. It was IAFFE's first fully bilingual conference, and it drew over 500 participants. Each year, the Annual Conference venue also hosts other IAFFE events and activities during conference week, most notably the Feminist Economics School and a pre-conference mentoring workshop. For information on past conferences, click here.
