Network of Feminist Economics Programs

IAFFE is building a global network of feminist economics-friendly programs to connect and implement cooperative activities.

There are very few universities and departments of economics that provide training in feminist economics, and people interested in studying feminist approaches to economics often do not know how to get started. Many feminist economists are isolated – being the only one in their institutions (or in some cases, one of the only feminist economists in the entire country). As part of this initiative, IAFFE proposes to pull together a consortium of feminist economics- friendly programs to pursue cooperative programs.

We envision this would involve student exchanges, developing common courses – or common degree programs across institutions, establishing memoranda of understanding between universities, and similar activities. Cooperative initiatives would allow pooling resources and expertise among institutions that may be at the early stages of establishing programs in feminist economics. This network would also assist other institutions that want to establish similar programs.

Call for Interest to join the Network

As the first step, we are looking for programs currently teaching or planning to teach feminist economics at different levels (BA, MA, PhD, certificate/extension/non-degree programs, non-academic training, etc., either full fledged or having FE as a part of the program/course(s)) that would like to join the Network.

If you are interested, please fill out this interest form to help us get started. Please note that it is an ongoing call for interest.
Please spread the word if you know any programs/professors who might be interested.
Academic Programs Specializing in Feminist Economics (Link)

Recently, the IAFFE Young Scholars Committee curated a list of academic programs that offer specialization in feminist economics. If you are already on the list and interested in joining our Network, your confirmation via this form would be highly appreciated.
